# 167. Bound, Unbound, 40″ x 30″ x 3″

This wall mounted artwork is based on the form of the Kukaʻa, which is a roll of prepared Pandanus leaves for traditional Lauhala weaving. After the leaves are processed, they are bound into rolls and this sculpture highlights the marks left by binding as a metaphor for the way constraints shape the creative process and ourselves.
